- Rules (last updated 2/05/07) -
1. No flooding. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but 5 lines at a time or more is generally what we consider where we draw the line. Similarly, no intentionally annoying or disruptive text formatting. 2. No spamming. 3. No trolling. 4. No discrimination on the basis of age, nationality, race, sex, orientation, religion, etc. Also, no flaming, insulting, or attacking people or places directly. UPDATED! 5. No linking to anything pornographic or disturbing. (If you must for whatever reason, i.e. requested by a user, clearly label it NSFW) 6. No bashing people for whatever reason. Particularly no bashing furries or other groups within the channel, because it causes unpleasant drama. 7. Do not distribute illegal material such as warez or ROMs in the channel. If you choose to do so in PM, you do so at your own risk and against Espernet's policy. 8. No detailed, public cybering. This is not an adult channel. One-liners for the sake of silliness are acceptable, as long as they are not graphic. Elaborated! 9. No stalking. 10. Respect each other, and respect the ops. If someone asks you to stop doing something, be nice and stop. 11. No advertising other channels, whether public or in PM to the channel's users en masse. If we hear complaints, we will look into it. Aside from these rules, we'd like to inform you that while we strive to remain fair at all times, we can take measures to kick, timeban, put on probation (where you be set as -v) or permanently ban you for any reason at any time. If you feel you've been unjustly banned, feel free to send a message to one of the other ops, but make sure to explain your case calmly and rationally or else the chances of your getting unbanned will be lower. In the end, however, it is the decision of the ops, not you or the regular users. We'd also like you to remember that, as the channel is privately owned like the network it is on, access is a privilege, not a right. We're sorry if this sounds overly controlling, but we've had issues with select few people complaining about the way we run things and trying to label it as unjustified no matter how much we explained it to them why it happened. |
